In master (master: A slide view or page on which you define formatting for all slides or pages in your presentation. Each presentation has a master for each key component: slides, title slides, speaker's notes, and audience handouts.) view, if you delete a header or footer placeholder (placeholders: Boxes with dotted or hatch-marked borders that are part of most slide layouts. These boxes hold title and body text or objects such as charts, tables, and pictures.), such as the Number Area or Date Area, you can reapply the placeholder.
- If you are not already in master view, on the View menu, point to Master, and then click the type of master you want to change.
- On the Format menu, do one of the following:
- For the slide master, click Master Layout.
- For the handout master, click Handout Master Layout.
- For the notes master, click Notes Master Layout.
- Under Placeholders, select the check box for the deleted placeholder.
Tip
If you delete the bracketed text, such as <date/time> or <#>, within a placeholder, you can type the text back in within the placeholder. Or, you can delete the entire placeholder and use the above steps to reapply the placeholder, which will include the bracketed text.
