Delete a table of contents
Applies to:

Show All
Hide All
On the
View
menu, point to
Toolbars
, and click
Outlining
.
On the
Outlining
toolbar
(toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, press ALT and then SHIFT+F10.)

Go to TOC
.
The table of contents is selected.
Press DELETE.
Notes
You can also select the table of contents manually and press DELETE.
To delete a table of contents in a Web
frame
(frames: The named subwindow of a frames page. The frame appears in a Web browser as one of a number of window regions in which pages can be displayed. The frame can be scrollable and resizable, and it can have a border.)
, you must position the insertion point inside the frame that contains the table of contents. To delete the entire frame, click
Delete Frame
on the
Frames
toolbar.
