Fix it: The spelling checker isn't checking words in another language correctly

If the spelling checker isn't checking words that you typed in another language, or it indicates that words in another language that you typed correctly are misspelled, it may be that the words are not tagged with the correct language identification.

  1. Select the text that's in another language. If the text is within an object such as a text box or AutoShape, select the object (or select multiple objects on a single slide).
  2. On the Tools menu, click Language.
  3. Select the language of the text that you want checked for spelling, and then click OK.

You may have to repeat these steps several times to mark text on several slides.

  4. On the Standard toolbar, click Spelling Button image.
