Adjust brightness and contrast
 
  1. On the Formatting toolbar, click Edit Pictures.
  2. In the Edit Pictures task pane, under Edit using these tools, do one of the following:
    • To automatically correct the brightness levels of the picture, under Correct brightness automatically, click Auto Brightness.
    • To manually adjust brightness , move the Brightness slider or enter a number in the box next to the slider.
    • To manually adjust contrast , move the Contrast slider or enter a number in the box next to the slider.
    • To manually adjust midtones , under Advanced settings move the Midtone slider or enter a number in the box next to the slider.
    • To manually adjust highlights , click More next to Advanced Settings, and then move the Highlight slider or enter a number in the box next to the slider.
    • To manually adjust shadows , click More next to Advanced Settings, and then move the Shadow slider or enter a number in the box next to the slider.

 Note   To undo an edit, click the Undo command on the Edit menu. The edits to the pictures will not be saved until you save them.
