The 2007 Microsoft Office Language Packs include proofing tools, such as the spelling checker, grammar checker, and thesaurus, for different languages. They also provide the flexibility of displaying the Ribbon (which is part of the Microsoft Office Fluent user interface), menus, and Help in different languages.

• Proofing tools for English are included with all language versions of the 2007 Microsoft Office system.
• Unless you previously purchased and installed a 2007 Microsoft Office Language Pack, your version of the 2007 Office release only includes the proofing tools for the language of your version and any companion languages. For example, if you purchased a Spanish version of the 2007 Office release, it includes the proofing tools for Spanish, Basque, Catalan, English, French, Galician, Portuguese (Brazil). Check which Language Packs are installed on your computer

1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2007 Language Settings.
2. In the Microsoft Office Language Settings 2007 dialog box, click the Display Language tab.
   • If the Display Language tab is not visible, you do not have any Language Packs installed. You only have the language of your version of the 2007 Office release. If you need additional languages that are not included with your language, you need to get a Language Pack or Language Interface Pack.
   • If the Display Language tab is visible, click the tab. The Display Microsoft Office menus and dialog boxes in: list shows the languages of the Language Packs that are installed.
   • If the Display Language tab is not visible but you see the language that you want is listed as an Enabled editing languages on the Editing Languages tab, see What does limited support mean.
