A model property is a characteristic of a model. Frequently, a model property specifies an important configuration setting, or specifies values that might be used throughout the model.

Planning Business Modeler predefines some model properties that apply to all models, and predefines other properties only for a particular type of model. For example, all models have certain configuration properties such as Enable offline cube. Only financial models, however, contain the model property Default Currency, which specifies the base currency for a financial process.

What do you want to do?

Set a model property

When you set a model property, you define the value of a model attribute. However, you cannot change all attributes of a model property. For example, you cannot change the property name, label, or data type.

You can change the Value field, or the Member field. You can also change the Description field of a model property.

Note   The Value field appears only if the data type is a primitive; that is, it is not a member or member set of a dimension. The Member or Members field appears only if the data type is a member of dimension or members of dimension.

  1. Click Models in the Workspace Browser pane of your application, and then double-click to open the model in which you want to modify a property value.
  2. Click the Model Propertiestab.
  3. In the Model Tasks pane, click Check Out.
  4. In the Model Properties table, click the property whose value you want to modify.
  5. Click the Edit Model Property button.
