View all hidden file types and file name extensions

What are tags?
In Windows Vista
Click the
Start
button
.
In
Computer
, open the folder containing files that you want to view.
On the
Organize
menu, click
Folder and Search Options
, and then click the
View
tab.
To view all hidden file types, click the
Show hidden files and folders
option.
To see all file name extensions, clear the
Hide file extensions for known file types
check box.
Click
Apply
.
In Microsoft Windows XP
In
My Computer
or
Windows Explorer
, open the folder containing files you want to view.
On the
Tools
menu, click
Folder Options
, and then click the
View
tab.
To view all hidden file types, click the
Show hidden files and folders
option.
To see all file name extensions, clear the
