Symptoms
You are trying to print materials from PowerPoint, but nothing is being printed.
Resolution
Try any of the following:
- Check all of the basics. Make sure that your printer is turned on, and that it is online. (There might be a button or switch labeled "Online." If you're not sure, refer to the documentation for your printer.)
- Check both ends of the cable between your computer and printer to verify that all connectors are fully plugged in.
- Verify that the printer has paper.
- In Powerpoint, on the File menu, click Print. In the Print dialog box, verify that the printer name is correct and that the materials to be printed are accurately identified.
- Check the status of your print job in the Microsoft Windows print queue. (Click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes). The print queue lists the items that are waiting to be printed. Information (such as the print status and number of pages) is provided for each item on the list.
- Try printing another presentation. If that second presentation prints successfully, then the printing problem might be caused by a problem with the content in the first presentation. If so, try copying and pasting your slides to a new file, or saving the file with a new name (click Save As on the File menu), and then try printing the new file.
- If you are printing over a network, make sure that your network connection is working. If you need assistance, check with your network administrator.
