I right-clicked my movie clip, but I can't edit the movie object

Applies to
Microsoft Office PowerPoint® 2003

Symptoms

You right-click a movie object, but you are unable to edit it.

Cause

Some media formats, such as GIF files, are categorized as movie clips by the Clip Art feature in Microsoft Office, but they are not actually digital videos. The Edit Movie Object command works only with digital video files.
