One of your main challenges as a marketing communications manager is to produce messages that encourage customers to use your products. This means creating product messages that successfully convey your products' benefits. To accomplish this goal, you need feedback from several sources, including customers, industry specialists, and channel partners. Use the Message Testing Questionnaire template to gather and consolidate the data you need to create consistent and effective marketing messages that help put you well ahead of the competition.

The demo opens with a title card that displays the text Build a consistent and integrated marketing message.

As a marketing communications manager, it's my job to create messages that encourage potential customers to try our products.

A Microsoft Office PowerPoint® 2003 slide titled Features & Benefits appears.

To accomplish this, I need to communicate our products' benefits — and make sure I'm communicating them successfully.

The scene changes to the Message Testing Questionnaire feedback table, which is divided into sections for recording audience impressions of different types of messages.

To confirm that our message resonates with our target audience, I need feedback from our customers, industry specialists, and channel partners.

The questionnaire instructions for testing messages and recording data appear.

For example, I can use a Message Testing Questionnaire.

The scene changes to the feedback table, with the messaging data already entered. The table scrolls up to reveal other sections of the table.

I ask the participants questions and record their answers in the feedback table.

The Messaging feedback table appears. The table is divided into a Question column and an Answer column. To the right of the last question on the table, Do you believe we can sustain our proof points?, the word Yes is typed.

Then I collect those responses and analyze them …

The home page of a Microsoft Windows® SharePoint® Services team site appears. The pointer clicks Documents and Lists on the SharePoint site menu bar. The Documents and Lists page appears, and the pointer clicks Shared Documents.

And publish them on our SharePoint Web site.

The Message Testing Questionnaire Spreadsheet appears. The data from the feedback table has been exported to the Microsoft Office Excel 2003 spreadsheet.

Later, I export the results to a spreadsheet.

A Message Testing Questionnaire column chart appears, with the reformatted data.

Now I can evaluate and reformat the results and share them with the rest of the marketing team.

A PowerPoint slide titled Message Clarity appears. The slide shows a reduced image of the column chart under the question Is our message getting through?

Creating and conveying an effective marketing message requires careful planning and research.

The scene changes to PowerPoint slide titled Overview, with the message Our customers know we can meet their needs better than the competition.

With a consistent message, our customers know we can meet their needs better than the competition.

The PowerPoint slide disappears. The text Microsoft Office appears with the Microsoft Office logo, and under them the URL http://www.office.microsoft.com appears.
