Reset a clip

If you make a lot of changes to a clip and decide you want to start over with its original form, resetting it can be very helpful.

Consider this clip art of a pencil. Say you change the color a few times and eliminate some elements.

Your end result looks like this, but you want to go back and start from scratch. The Reset Picture command will undo any changes you made to a picture's contrast, color, brightness, borders, or size.

To reset a clip

  1. In your Microsoft Office document or file, click on the clip you want to restore.
  2. On the Picture toolbar, click the Reset Picture button. Reset Picture button

Your clip is now back to its original look.

 Note   You cannot restore a picture if you previously selected one of these options from the Compress Pictures dialog box: Web/Screen, Print, or Delete cropped areas of pictures.
