| Clip Art and Media site on Office Online |
If you're wondering about how your favorite site for clip art and media has changed and improved, here are a few of the key things you'll want to know about. When we designed the new Microsoft Office Online site, including the Clip Art and Media site, we used customer comments to help us make our decisions. Most of the changes you see have come about as the result of feedback from customers like you.
Copy and paste clips—no more downloading
It's much easier to move a clip into a document now, because you no longer need to download the clip to your hard drive. Simply copy and paste the clip wherever you want it, or drag it into your document.
To use the copy and paste method, click the Copy to Clipboard icon beneath the clip, move your cursor to where you want the clip in your document, right-click, and then click Paste. Or, click the thumbnail of the clip and drag it to the place in your document where you want it. If you think you might want to use the clip again, you can download it and add it to Microsoft Clip Gallery or Microsoft Clip Organizer.
Easily resize thumbnails and previews
You can choose the size of thumbnails that appear on your screen. You can also determine the size of the preview that appears in the Properties window.
To customize
thumbnails and previews
- Click Options, located at the upper right of the page.
- Click the size you want for your thumbnails, Small or Medium.
- Click the number of thumbnails you want to appear on the screen. Choose from 8, 12, 24, or 48.
- Click the size of the preview you want to appear, Medium or Large.
- Click Save. You might have to click the Refresh button in your browser to see the change.
10,000 new images to play with
You now have 10,000 new images to add to your projects and documents—everything from photos to new styles and collections. This is in addition to the 100,000 images that have been available to you previously.
Search within a category
You can also search within a category from the Categories section on the lower part of the home page. When you click a category, the Search feature finds all of the media in that category. You can narrow this search by clicking a category and then searching for a specific word or words. For example, if you click the Black & White category and then type animals in the Search box, your results will be black-and-white images of animals.
