PhotoDraw 3-D effects work best with objects that have distinct lines and transparent areas, such as text and shapes. And if you want to create a 3-D solid that you can fill with pictures, follow these steps.

Open each photo as a separate picture

• Use the File Open dialog box or the Visual Open dialog box to select two photos for use in your photo cube.

Or

• Create a new blank picture, and then use the Insert PhotoDraw Content dialog box to add a photo to it. Repeat this step to create a second picture that contains a photo.

  

  Create a square

  1. Create a new picture.
  2. On the toolbar, click the Rectangle button, and then press SHIFT as you drag the pointer to create a perfect square.
  3. On the Fill menu, click Solid color, and then click any color in the color box.
     Don't worry about which color you choose — you'll replace the fill in the next step.

  Turn the square into a cube

  1. On the Effects menu, click 3-D.
  2. In the work pane gallery, click Wood 1.

     Tip   You can apply a preset effect and then modify it rather than create an effect from scratch.

  3. At the top of the work pane, click Beveling and Extrusion, click Settings, and then do the following:
     • Set the Depth value to 100.0.
     • Set the Width value to 0.0.
  4. At the top of the work pane, click Rotate and Tilt, and then set the Tilt left and right and Tilt up and down values to 20.0.

  

  Fill the surfaces with your photos

  1. At the top of the 3-D work pane, click Fill.
  2. In the Surface gallery, click Face.
  3. In the Fill list, click Picture.
  4. Click the Replace Fill button, and then click the first thumbnail in the Picture List.
  5. In the Surface gallery, click Bevel.
  6. Click the Replace Fill button, and then click the second thumbnail in the Picture List.

  

  Your final picture will look like a photo cube. Try experimenting with different shapes, fills, and placements to create other interesting results.
