Display words one-by-one in a PowerPoint 2000 presentation

To add impact and suspense to a slide in a Microsoft PowerPoint® presentation, display one word or letter at a time using custom animations.

To display text word-by-word

  1. Select the text box you want to add the animation effect to.

Note   The animation effect applies to all of the text in the text box. For example, if you have three bullet points in the text box, the effect applies to each bullet point in turn when you run the slide show.

  2. On the Slide Show menu, click Custom Animation, and then click the Effects tab.
  3. In the Entry animation and sound box, choose the effect you want.
  4. In the Introduce text box, choose how you want each line of text to appear.
For example, you can have each line of text appear all-at-once, by word, or by letter.
  5. To choose the number of lines of text displayed per click, check Grouped by in the Introduce text box and select the desired number of lines.
