Comparing Groove Enterprise Services to Groove Server 2007
 

By investing in Microsoft Office Groove 2007, you promote timely and dynamic collaboration within and across organizational boundaries, empowering business teams without sacrificing central control. You have two options for deploying Groove infrastructure in an enterprise:

  • Deploy Groove Servers at your site
  • Subscribe to Groove Enterprise Services hosted by Microsoft

Microsoft Office Groove Enterprise Services is composed of two components:

  • Groove Enterprise Services Manager, which provides Web-based management services that allow administrators to set security and communication policies for Groove accounts, schedule periodic account backups, and view reports of Groove activity and usage statistics.
  • Groove Enterprise Services Relay, which provides data relay services to transmit data between Groove clients when they cannot connect directly.

Groove Server utilizes highly efficient 64-bit architecture so fewer servers can support more users. Office Groove Server 2007 consists of three servers packaged in a suite:

  • Groove Server Manager, required
  • Groove Server Relay, required
  • Groove Server Data Bridge, optional
