In custom tools developed in the Forms tool, you can set any field you have placed on a form as a required field. If you set a field as "Required", users are prompted to supply a value for the field, if missing, when they save the record. In custom tools developed in the InfoPath Forms tool, this task is done in Microsoft InfoPath.
