Add a picture to a Web page
 

You can add a picture (also called a graphic) to your Web page from a variety of sources.

  1. In Page view, at the bottom of the document window, click Design Button image.
  2. Place the insertion point where you want to add a picture.
  3. Do one of the following:

ShowAdd a picture from a file

  1. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.
  2. Locate the file you want to add, and then click Insert.

ShowAdd clip art from the Clip Organizer

  1. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click Clip Art.
  2. In the Clip Art task pane (task pane: A window within an Office application that provides commonly used commands. Its location and small size allow you to use these commands while still working on your files.), in the Search for box, type a word or phrase that describes the clip art you want.

    If you want to limit your search to a specific clip art collection or file type, do the following:

    • In the Search in list, clear the check boxes next to the collections that you do not want to search.
    • In the Results should be list, select the file types that you want.

  3. Click Go.
  4. In the search results list, click the picture that you want to add.

ShowAdd a picture from a scanner

  1. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From Scanner or Camera.
  2. Under Device, click the device that you want to add a picture from.
  3. Click the resolution (resolution: The fineness of detail in an image or text produced by a monitor or printer.) that you want.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • To add a picture in its original form, click Insert.
    • To adjust the properties of a picture before adding it, click Custom Insert, and then select the picture that you want to add.

ShowAdd a picture from a digital camera

  1. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From Scanner or Camera.
  2. Under Device, click the device that you want to add a picture from.
  3. Click Custom Insert.
  4. Select the picture that you want to add, and then click Get Pictures.

    ShowTip

    To select more than one picture, hold down CTRL and then select the pictures that you want.
