A photo gallery is a Web page that contains a collection of photos arranged in a specific layout. Microsoft FrontPage provides four different layouts that you can use to arrange your graphics.

In addition to creating an individual photo gallery, you can create your own Web site "photo album" by first creating two or more galleries, and then adding a link bar (link bar: A collection of graphic or text buttons representing hyperlinks to pages both within your Web site and to external sites.) that connects them all. Each page can have a different layout.
Adding and removing photos
When you create a gallery, you can add as many photos as you want. You can also add or remove photos at any time.
You can add photos from a variety of sources:
- Your computer or local Web site
- The World Wide Web
- The Microsoft Clip Organizer
- A scanner
- A digital camera
Editing a specific photo
FrontPage offers you several ways to edit your photos after you have added them to the photo gallery:
Captions and descriptions
Below each photo in a photo gallery there is space for a caption and description. You can select the font style, color, and size of the caption. You can create the caption and description when you create the gallery, or you can change or remove it later.
Thumbnails
When you create a photo gallery using one of the four layouts, a thumbnail (thumbnail: A miniature representation of a picture on a Web page, usually containing a hyperlink to a full-size version of the graphic. Thumbnails are used to load pages rich in graphics or pictures more quickly in a Web browser.) of each photo is automatically created. You have the opportunity to set or change the size of the thumbnail at any time.
