Note To create a guest book, your
site must be located on a Web server that is running FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions (FrontPage Server Extensions: A set of programs and scripts that support authoring in FrontPage and extend the functionality of a Web server.) from Microsoft, SharePoint Team Services v1.0 from Microsoft, or Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services. Ask your Web server
administrator or Internet service
provider (ISP) (ISP: A business that provides access to the Internet for such things as electronic mail, chat rooms, or use of the World Wide Web. Some ISPs are multinational, offering access in many locations, while others are limited to a specific region.) whether your server is running one of these technologies.
Microsoft FrontPage contains a guest book Web template that you can insert and use in your Web site. Visitors to your Web site can type comments in the guest book form and submit them so that their comments are shared publicly on the Web site. By default, guest book entries are displayed on a Web page named guestlog.htm, but you can store results to another file, a database, or your e-mail address. By default, guestlog.htm is located in the same folder as the guest book page.
To create a guest book for your Web site, do the following:
- On the File menu, click New.
- In the New task pane, under New page, click More page templates.
- On the General tab, double-click the Guest Book template.

- In the TextArea Box Properties dialog box, modify the values to meet your requirements.
Note If you want comments from site visitors to be sent to you directly in e-mail as the comments are submitted, set the form's properties to store results to your e-mail address.
