Ask the FrontPage community

Professionals sharing ideas in a group

Why should I ask them?

Sometimes when you have a question, you'd rather ask someone for the answer than look it up. The FrontPage community includes lots of knowledgeable people that you can turn to. Together, they make up an online group of experienced FrontPage users, including FrontPage Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs), who willingly share their time to answer questions and to provide solutions, tips, and expertise.

Don't have FrontPage yet?   Download the free FrontPage trial version and discover what you can do with FrontPage.

Visit the following sites to benefit from the community's experience and add to your own:

  • FrontPage discussion groups help you dive right in and get answers to your questions from other users and experts.

You can quickly learn a few tips and tricks that will help you get the most out of the Office discussion groups.

  • FrontPage MVPs are FrontPage experts who have lots of experience. They can provide tips and ideas when you need to solve a technical problem. You can often find many of them in the FrontPage discussion groups.
  • The MVPs.org web site is an independent web site that is entirely managed by MVPs. It lists a variety of useful links that are provided to you by a few folks associated with the Microsoft MVP program.
  • The FrontPage FAQ lets you search a list of frequently asked questions. Find answers fast! You'll learn more about FrontPage error messages, FrontPage Server Extension information, and even hit counters that you can add to pages to find out how many people visit your Web site.
  • You can contact one of the following professional organizations. Or you can find user group near you.
    • SiteBuilder provides many useful links to discussion groups, third-party solutions, tutorials, and much more to help you use and share Web site development tools.
    • World Wide Web Consortium develops technical specifications for the Web, and is a great source of information about current and future technologies that can help you maximize your Web site's collaboration potential and reach.
  • Search for add-ins that have been submitted by users. Add-ins help you extend FrontPage. For example, you can download an add-in to incorporate video into a Web page or insert data from a database. Or you can submit your own add-in.
  • Make a suggestion if you still haven't found an answer. You can also share tips and tricks, make feature requests, or send us an article to share with other FrontPage users.

Kevin Spencer
"I started using the FrontPage newsgroup about 8 years ago or so, initially looking for help. Once I had received help, it seemed only right to contribute some help of my own. Of course, here I am 8 years later, still participating. Now I participate in a number of Microsoft newsgroups, but the reasons are still the same. People helping people. It's infectious! And everyone has something to offer on some level. I learn something new every week."
