If you have created and published a Web site that includes a guest book, and then you later update your Web site and republish all of your files, your guest book will be replaced by a blank one. To avoid that situation, publish your Web site first, and then republish any files that contain Web components, such as guest book forms, hit counters (Hit Counter component: A component in FrontPage that keeps track of the number of visitors to a World Wide Web site.), or discussion Web sites.
