TIW Technology, Inc. is a software development company that designs sophisticated accounting and manufacturing applications for small to mid-size businesses. Since 1983, TIW has focused on solving functional problems in growing companies by emphasizing the details that make day-to-day activities run smoothly.

“As a software developer of accounting and manufacturing systems, our Web site is often the first contact that potential clients have with us,” explains Roderick Hatcher, President of TIW. “Allowing these clients to have easy access to information, pricing, and free trial packages has had a significant impact on our overall sales volume. In fact, the number of hits on the Web site is at its highest level ever, and we have found that sales can be closely correlated to that interest.

“There is not a week that goes by when someone does not comment on how much they like the TIW Web site and how useful it has been to them.”

Web site requirements

TIW wanted a professional-looking Web site that would introduce potential clients to their products, offer support to existing customers, and deliver essential information to their dealers. The greatest technical challenge that they faced was knowing little to no HTML code while needing to construct this large, multipurpose Web site.

They also needed a Web development tool that would support frequent updates and enhancements to the site, including the ability to upload 40- to 50-MB files.

FrontPage features

Using FrontPage 2003, TIW created a stylish, interactive Web site without knowing HTML, significantly reducing the resources usually required to construct and maintain a site of this size. With Dynamic Web Templates, designers could easily create elegant, streamlined layouts, while embedded screen tips and interactive buttons added a sense of completeness to the site.

Hatcher adds that TIW will continue to use FrontPage 2003 to expand their Web site in the future. “Our plans call for adding training capabilities to the site and setting up an area where our dealers can receive automated quotes and place orders online. We will rely heavily on FrontPage to achieve these goals.”
