Enable or disable features that require the FrontPage Server Extensions

You can set Microsoft FrontPage 2002 to enable or disable commands that require Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions (FrontPage Server Extensions: A set of programs and scripts that support authoring in FrontPage and extend the functionality of a Web server.) on the Web server (Web server: A computer that hosts Web pages and responds to requests from browsers. Also known as an HTTP server, a Web server stores files whose URLs begin with http://.).

On the Tools menu, click Page Options, and then click the Compatibility tab.
Choose one of the following:

Show To design your Web site with features that require the FrontPage Server Extensions

Select the Enabled with Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions check box.

Show To design your Web site with features that do not require the FrontPage Server Extensions

Clear the Enabled with Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions check box.

Note If you clear this check box, the following items will be unavailable in the Insert Web Component dialog box:

Web Search
Hit Counter
Photo Gallery
Top 10 List
Confirmation Field
List View (also requires a Web server that is running SharePoint® Team Services from Microsoft™)
Document Library View (also requires a Web server that is running SharePoint Team Services)
