Tips and Tricks for FrontPage

What You Want to Do

Expected Audience: Intermediate

When you create a new page using File | New | Page in Microsoft FrontPageĀ® 2002, you are given the choice to base your page on one of many pre-built templates. You can also create your own template, with your own styles, frames, etc. Once created, you will be able to choose this template from the list in the future.

  • Save As...FrontPage Template

Specific Steps to Take

To create a template, follow these steps:

  1. Open an existing Web or create a new Web in FrontPage.
  2. On the View menu, click Page.
  3. On the File menu, point to New, then click Page.
  4. In the New Page dialog box, select Normal Page, and then click OK.
  5. Design the page the way you want it to look.
  6. On the File menu, click Save As.... In the Save As dialog box, under Save as type click FrontPage Template. Click Save.
  7. In the Save As Template dialog box, type the title, name, and description you want, and then click OK.

  9. If the page contains any images, you will be asked to save them to the Web. Click Yes To All.

You can now access your new template by clicking New on the File menu.
