Add and modify new pages using the navigation pane

The Navigation pane is new in Microsoft FrontPage® 2002. Previously, you had to go into the Navigation view to see how your pages linked to each other in FrontPage. Now, the Navigation pane allows you to see how your pages link together while you're still editing a page. It's even easier to add new pages, delete links to existing ones, or rename page titles using the Navigation pane. And all changes automatically update buttons, links and pages.

To quickly add and modify a new page using the Navigation pane, open a Web site and do the following:

  1. On the View menu, click Folder List and then toggle over to the Navigation pane.
  2. To add a new page, right-click under an existing page in the Navigation pane, select New, and click Page on the shortcut menu.
  3. To add or change the title of a page, right-click the page, click Rename on the shortcut menu, and edit the name.
  4. To save your changes, right-click in the Navigation pane background and select Apply Changes on the shortcut menu.

Tip   You can create a new Top Page by right-clicking in the Navigation pane below the last existing page, select New, and then click Top Page. New top pages are automatically added to link bars in shared borders.
