Web sites based on SharePoint™ Team Services from Microsoft offer pre-made interactive lists like Announcements, Events, and Links. What's unique about SharePoint Team Services interactive lists is that you can create new lists or edit and customize existing lists from within the browser. You can further customize these lists using Layout Customization View in Microsoft FrontPage® 2002.
The files for each list are kept in a separate folder. Each document library has its own folder under the root directory of the SharePoint team Web site. The folders for all other lists are found in the Lists folder. Under Folder view in FrontPage 2002, you can find a set of .htm files in each list directory for showing views of the list and providing list forms for adding or editing list items. Opening a list page in Layout Customization view shows you where the fields are placed in a list view page or a list form page of an interactive list, document library, or survey. Then, using Layout Customization View, you can:
- Change the order of fields
- Add or remove fields
- Replace one field with another
- Customize text formatting in fields
- Modify table formatting
- Add custom content, such as text or a Web component
To customize text formatting in a field of an interactive list in your SharePoint team Web site, open it with FrontPage 2002 and edit it directly on the server as follows:
- In the Folder List, click Lists, and then open the view page you want to modify.
- Right-click the list view component you want to modify, and on the shortcut menu click Layout Customization View.
- Right-click in the data field you want to modify and select Font.
- Apply new font, font style, color or effects.
- Click OK.
Tip Layout Customization View shows list page fields highlighted as in the picture below. If you don't see highlighted fields when you open your list page, you are in Live Data view. To switch to Layout Customization View, right-click in the data fields under the list toolbar and select Layout Customization View.
