Using advanced handwriting recognition in FrontPage 2002

Use handwriting recognition to enter text into Microsoft FrontPage® 2002-based Web pages by writing instead of typing. You can write by using a handwriting input device such as a graphics tablet, a tablet-PC, or by using your mouse. Your natural handwriting is converted to typed characters and inserted inline with any existing text, at the same size as the existing text. This feature is available in the Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean language versions of Microsoft Office XP.

To use handwriting recognition for the first time, install it by doing a custom installation as follows:

  1. On the Microsoft Windows Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Click Change or Remove Programs, select Microsoft Office XP, and then click Change.
  4. Click Add or Remove Features, and then click Next.
  5. Under Features to install, next to Office Shared Features, click the + icon.
  6. Next to Alternative User Input, click the + icon, click Handwriting, and then select the type of installation you want.
  7. Click Update.

Tip   Handwriting is added to the Language bar. To access it from within FrontPage, from the Tools menu, select Speech, click on Handwriting in the language bar, and select Writing Pad or Write Anywhere.
