Applies to
Microsoft FrontPage® 2002author="a-gfox" time="20040511T151631-0800" data="<br/>SharePoint™ Team Services v1.0 from Microsoft®"

SharePoint Team Services-based default sites offer pre-made Link Bars for site-wide navigation. One link bar is in the top shared border of the home page. With FrontPage 2002, you can customize these link bars by editing or adding and removing links. You can further customize these link bars by changing button styles (see Quickly Change Navigation Elements from Text to Buttons).

To modify the link bar, SharePoint Top Navbar in a SharePoint Team Services-based Web site, open the Web site with FrontPage 2002 and edit it directly on the server as follows:

  1. In Folder List view, double-click Default.htm to open the home page.
  2. Right-click author="a-gfox" time="20040511T151829-0800" data="on "the navigation links at the top of the page and select Link Bar Propertiesauthor="a-gfox" time="20040511T151856-0800" data="…" from the shortcut menu.
  3. In Link Bar Properties under Links, enter custom links by clicking author="a-gfox" time="20040511T151916-0800" data="on "Add link.
  4. To delete a link, select the link under Linksauthor="a-gfox" time="20040511T151927-0800" data=":" and click author="a-gfox" time="20040511T151938-0800" data="the" Remove linkauthor="a-gfox" time="20040511T151941-0800" data=" button".

Warning  At this point you can click Cancel to exit Link Bar Properties without deleting the link. Step 5. (below), will apply your changes immediately and they can not be undone. You can use Step 3. (above) to add links back to the link bar.

However, adding back certain special links such as Settings or Help requires advanced knowledge of and administrator access to your server's FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions.

  5. Complete your link list and click OK to close Link Bar Properties.

Tip  You can quickly add a new page link to the SharePoint Top Navbar via the Navigation Pane. To add an existing page to the current navigation structure, open Navigation Pane, then right-click SharePoint Top Navbar, and select Add Existing Pageauthor="a-gfox" time="20040511T152205-0800" data="…". Use the Insert Hyperlink dialog to find the page you want to add to the link bar, select it and click OK.
