What You Want to Do

Normally, if you want to create a hyperlink that brings you to another section of your current page or to a section of another page, you will need to bookmark that section first and then create a hyperlink to the bookmark. Microsoft FrontPage® 2000 lets you accomplish all of this with a simple drag and drop. You can do this within a single page or across pages, as long as you can open both pages simultaneously within FrontPage. You can rename your hyperlink and bookmark afterwards.

Specific Steps to Take

To use drag and drop to create hyperlinks to bookmarks, follow these steps:

  1. Highlight the word or phrase you want bookmarked.
  2. Right click the word or phrase and drag it to where you want your hyperlink. In the first figure below, we wanted a bookmark created on the word bookmark and the hyperlink created before the phrase "What You Want To Do."
  3. When you release the right mouse button, you get the option to move, copy, or link. Select Link Here. That's it. Your hyperlink and bookmark both get created, as shown in the second figure below.

Notice that the hyperlink uses the word or phrase you highlighted. To change this, simply type over it.
