Move or reroute a connector

Do one of the following:

ShowReroute a connector to the closest points between shapes

  1. Select one of the connected objects (object: A table, chart, graphic, equation, or other form of information. Objects created in one application, for example spreadsheets, and linked or embedded in another application are OLE objects.).
  2. On the Drawing toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, press ALT and then SHIFT+F10.), click Draw, and then click Reroute Connectors.

Rerouted connector

ShowTip

If more than one connector line is attached to an object and you don't want to reroute all the lines, select only the ones you want to reroute, and then click Reroute Connectors.

ShowMove a connector

Do one or both of the following:

To override the automatic locking of the end, hold down ALT as you drag the end. You can place the end wherever you want on the object, but the end will not be connected.

  • To detach the entire line, drag its middle.

 Note   If the connector line has a yellow adjustment handle (adjustment handle: A diamond-shaped handle used to adjust the appearance but not the size of most AutoShapes. For example, you can adjust a rounded rectangle to be more or less rounded.), dragging the handle will change the shape of the connector line but not detach it.
