Active content types indicated on Message Bar

Use the Enable Content button on the Message Bar to enable active content in your file.



On the previous page, you learned that active content helps with productivity, and functionality, but it can also be used for malicious intent. This potential threat to your computer and your organization’s network causes a Message Bar to appear. If you know the content is from a reliable source, you can click Enable Content on the Message Bar to enable active content in your file. The active content is enabled and the Message Bar no longer appears when you re-open the file.

If you’re not sure about the reliability of the source of the file, and you want learn more, you can use security options in the Microsoft Office Backstage view. On the next page, we will show you how you can learn more about the active content in your file, what types are in the file, and other useful options.
