Change or delete a defined name

Important notice for users of Office 2003    To continue receiving security updates for Office, make sure you're running Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3). Use defined names to make it easier to refer to a cell, range of cells, formula, or constant value.

  1. On the Insert menu, point to Name, and then click Define.
  2. In the Names in workbook list, click the name you want to change.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Change the name
      1. Type the new name for the reference, and then click Add.
      2. Click the original name, and then click Delete.
    • Change the cell, formula, or constant represented by a name

Change the name in the Refers to box.

  • Delete the name

Click Delete.
