AutoFilter filters data so that you see only what you want to see

Imagine that you're looking at a worksheet with two thousand rows of data, showing numerous products from suppliers around the world. You need to find all the products from one particular supplier, but they're scattered throughout the worksheet, and you don't have much time. Well then, it's time you learned how to filter in Excel.

Filtering selects just the data you need and hides all the rest. So you see only what you want to see, and you see it at a click. Why read through rows and rows of data to spot the information you're looking for, when Excel finds it fast for you?

Filtering doesn't change your data in any way. As soon as you remove the filter, all your data reappears, exactly the same as it was before.
