The Microsoft Lync Adoption and Training Kit provides IT Professionals, Help Desk and Support Professionals, and Trainers, guidance resources for accelerating the launch and adoption of Lync in their organization. This preliminary version of the kit represents a work in progress. At this time, it provides:

- User education and training resources that can be customized and self-hosted on a SharePoint site or intranet site.
|
- Templates for Launching Lync awareness materials, including email announcements, Lync posters and t-shirts, and a Launching Lync HTML sign-up form.
|
|
The resources in this preliminary draft of the Lync 2010 Adoption and Training Kit are available for you to use as you see fit. Additional guidance on how to successfully launch Lync in your organization, including how and when to use the adoption and training resources, will be available in the coming months.

Lync 2010 offers a variety of resources for educating users about Lync 2010 and its new features. You are welcome to download the videos and post them to a SharePoint site or intranet in your organization. You can also edit the What’s New articles to describe the particulars of launching Lync in your organization.

|
Quick Start guides provide the basic steps for using Lync 2010 feature areas. Feel free to download and modify the Quick Start guides to meet the needs of your organization. The Quick Starts are provided in HTML format. The Download Package provides instructions that explain how to modify the Quick Start HTML files, or to convert them into Microsoft Word format.

With Work Smart guides, you learn the fastest, most effective ways to use Lync to connect with others, share your thoughts and ideas, and manage your day-to-day communications. In short, these guides show you how to "work smarter." The Work Smart guides are provided in HTML format. You are welcome to modify and host How-To articles on a SharePoint site or an intranet in your organization.

These short (10 to 30 seconds in length) How-To videos provide a quick demonstration of how to perform common tasks, such as changing your presence and location.

The following Lync 2010 Training modules are available for you to download. The modules are PowerPoint 2010 files, so you can easily modify them to meet the needs of your organization. They are suitable for self-taught, computer-based training, or you can use them in instructor-led training.

With these free instructor-led sessions, you can learn how easy it is to get started with Microsoft Lync by watching demonstrations and participating in hands-on activities. These highly interactive sessions are held in a virtual classroom setting several times a week.
