Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 Enterprise Edition system requirements
 

To use Live Communications Server 2005, Enterprise Editions you need:

Component Requirement
Computer and processor PC with 2.0GHz or faster processor; 2 or more processors recommended
Memory 256 MB of RAM (2 GB or greater recommended)
Hard disk Single Ultra2 small computer system interface (SCSI) hard drive with 36 GB of available hard-disk space
Operating system Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition, Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition, Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition (supports 32-bit versions of Windows Server 2003), or Windows Server 2003 R2 Datacenter Edition
Other Active Directory directory service for Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 required

Database requirements: Installation of Live Communications Server 2005 Enterprise Edition requires a separate server running SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition, SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition with service pack 3a, SQL Server 2005 SP1 Standard Edition (32-bit or 64-bit), or SQL Server 2005 SP1 Enterprise Edition (32-bit or 64-bit)

Archiving Service requires SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition, SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition, SQL Server 2005 SP1 Standard Edition (32-bit or 64-bit), or SQL Server 2005 SP1 Enterprise Edition (32-bit or 64-bit)

Client requirements: Microsoft Windows Messenger 5.1 works for basic presence, instant messaging (IM), and federation scenarios; however, Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 is the recommended client for Live Communications Server 2005 with Service Pack 1 (SP1)
