Share data with Business Contact Manager for Outlook
 

You can integrate Microsoft Office Accounting 2008 with Microsoft Office Outlook with Business Contact Manager to perform the following tasks:

  • Add customer records, contacts, and product and service items from Office Accounting 2008 to Business Contact Manager for Outlook. Customer records in Accounting 2008 are added as account records in Business Contact Manager for Outlook.
  • After adding product and service items, update your Product and Service Items List with new items and data from Accounting 2008.
  • Add account records from Business Contact Manager for Outlook to Accounting 2008 as customer records.
  • Link a Business Contact Manager for Outlook account record to an Accounting 2008 customer record to view and update financial information in Business Contact Manager for Outlook.
  • Import product and service items from Accounting 2008 into Business Contact Manager for Outlook.
  • Create a quote, sales order, or invoice from a Business Contact Manager for Outlook account or opportunity record.
  • Create a Time Entry form to invoice a customer from a Business Contact Manager for Outlook appointment, phone log, or task.

Upgrading from earlier versions

If you previously connected Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2003 to Small Business Accounting 2006 and you upgrade to Accounting 2008, the connection is lost. Open Business Contact Manager for Outlook, make sure the service pack is installed, and then repeat the connection process.

To install the service pack for Business Contact Manager for Outlook or to check for additional information about this issue, go to the Microsoft Office Online Web site.

Each Business Contact Manager for Outlook user who wants to use Accounting 2008 must have Accounting 2008 access. If you are the system administrator of Accounting 2008, you can grant access to other Business Contact Manager for Outlook users.
