Delete a company file

If you want to remove a company from Microsoft Office Accounting 2008, you must delete both the database and the associated company file.

For information about deleting the company database, see Delete a company database.

  1. Log on to Windows as the Administrator who installed and set up the software.
  2. In Windows Explorer, open the folder where the company file is stored. By default, the company files are stored in the following location:

    Windows Vista  drive:\Users\user\Documents\Small Business Accounting\Companies
    Windows XP  drive:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\Small Business Accounting\Companies

  3. Right-click the company file that you want to delete, and click Delete.
  4. To confirm, click Yes.
