Settings that can be contained in a business template

Items marked with an asterisk (*) are available in Microsoft Office Accounting Professional 2008 only.

A business template contains a number of accounts and settings that make it simpler for you to set up a new company in Microsoft Office Accounting 2008. Most company preferences and other settings can be contained in a business template, but some cannot.

 Note   You can only create and export a business template from Office Accounting Professional 2008. If you create a Microsoft Office Accounting Express company from an exported template, only features and settings that are available in Office Accounting Express 2008 will be included.

Accounts and settings that can be contained in a business template

ShowChart of accounts

The following accounts can be contained in a business template.

All financial accounts, whether active or inactive

Exchange Gain and Exchange Loss accounts, if the original company is set up to use foreign currencies

ShowVendors

On a Vendor form, settings on the General tab and the Details tab can be contained in a business template.

In the Preferences dialog box, the following settings can be contained in a business template.

When a company is set up to use foreign currencies, settings on the Currency list can be contained in a business template.

Settings that cannot be contained in a business template

Business templates cannot contain company-specific information such as company name, e-mail or Web addresses, federal tax ID number, or transactional data (including opening balances).
