Check the spelling of data in Datasheet view
- Open a datasheet (datasheet: Data from a table, form, query, view, or stored procedure that is displayed in a row-and-column format.).
- Select the records, columns, fields, or text whose spelling you want to check.
How?
The following table lists mouse techniques for selecting data or records in Datasheet view (Datasheet view: A window that displays data from a table, form, query, view, or stored procedure in a row-and-column format. In Datasheet view, you can edit fields, add and delete data, and search for data.).
- Click Spelling
on the toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, click Customize on the Tools menu, and then click the Toolbars tab.).
Note If a datasheet contains subdatasheets (subdatasheet: A datasheet that is nested within another datasheet and that contains data related or joined to the first datasheet.), Microsoft Access checks the spelling only of the datasheet or subdatasheet where you have placed the insertion point.
Check the spelling of data in Form view
- Open a form in Form view (Form view: A window that displays a form to show or accept data. Form view is the primary means of adding and modifying data in tables. You can also change the design of a form in this view.).
- Select the field or text whose spelling you want to check.
- Click Spelling
on the toolbar.
Check the spelling of the data in a database object while in the Database window
- In the Database window (Database window: The window that appears when you open an Access database or an Access project. It displays shortcuts for creating new database objects and opening existing objects.), click the table, query, form, view, or stored procedure whose spelling you want to check.
- Click Spelling
on the toolbar.
Note In the Spelling dialog box, click Add if you want to add the word that is in the Not In Dictionary box to the custom dictionary.
