If your installation of Office 2013 seems slow, the antivirus software might be the problem. The antivirus software is doing what it is supposed to—to check the incoming files for viruses—but this slows down the Office 2013 installation. The good news is that this should only be a problem during installation.
You can either wait for the installation to finish or turn off your antivirus software—but don’t forget to turn it back on when you’re done installing Office 2013.
If you’ve started the installation on your PC and decide to turn off your antivirus software, stop the installation, run the Fix it in the Uninstall Microsoft Office 2013 or Office 365 article, turn off your antivirus software, and start the installation again.
If you’re using a Mac, stop the installation, uninstall Office, turn off your antivirus software, and start the installation again.
Another thing you can try is to use a wired connection instead of a wireless connection.
