Personal Folders and Archive both use PST files.
Whether you're using the Personal Folders method or the Archive method (discussed in earlier courses in this series), your messages are stored in a PST file on your own computer. The messages that you keep in a PST file are no different from other messages. They're just regular messages, and you can forward or reply to them in the same way as you do with other messages. You can also search through your stored messages if, for example, you need to jog your memory about a project you worked on or a decision you made.
In order to do these tasks with your stored messages, you need to open the PST in the Navigation Pane. That's what we'll talk about in the next few sections of this course.
