Areas not included within a hotspot will go to a default hyperlink location, if specified.
Here's a question: What would happen if you clicked an area on an image map that wasn't within a hotspot? For example, what if you clicked the head, arms, or legs of this soccer player?
You wouldn't jump to another location, unless of course you gave the image map a default hyperlink location.
A default hyperlink location is the place you will go when you click an area that is not within a hotspot.
You set a default link for the image map by selecting the image and inserting a link (Insert menu, Hyperlink command.)
