Connect shapes the best way in Visio drawings

Click Play to see a point-to-point connection being created. When you drag the endpoint of a connector to a connection point (a blue x) on a shape, a red outline appears around the connection point.

With a point-to-point connection, a connector stays glued to its specific connection point on each shape when you reposition the shapes.

When you glue a connector to a specific point on a shape, a red box appears around the connection point as you're creating the connection.

Point-to-point connections are your best bet when it's important that a connector stay attached to a specific place on a shape, as in a flowchart where you have a decision shape with two possible outcomes.
