In Microsoft Office Word 2007, you can insert mathematical symbols into equations.
- On the Insert tab, in the Symbols group, click the arrow next to Equations, and then click Insert New Equation.

- Under Equation Tools, on the Design tab, in the
Symbols group, click the
More arrow
.
- Click the arrow next to the name of the symbol set, and then click the name of the symbol set that you want to display.
- Click the symbol that you want to insert.
Note If the Equation button is not available, you may be working in Compatibility Mode. Compatibility Mode ensures that no new or enhanced features in Office Word 2007 are available while you are working with a document, so that people who are using previous versions of Word will have full editing capabilities.
