Once your calendar is open, it will be displayed in Day, Work Week, Week, or Month view. To switch between the different calendar views, use the buttons on the Standard toolbar. Or, for easy switching, you can also show some choices for views in the Navigation Pane.
Wondering how Outlook knows which view to display when you leave and then return to the calendar? The view that's displayed is whatever view you used the last time you used the calendar.
Tip Want to get in the habit of checking your calendar first thing before you dive into your e-mail? When you start Outlook, you can have it open the calendar by default. You do this by adjusting one of the Advanced Options, which you get to via the Options dialog box. We'll show you exactly how to do this in the practice session at the end of this lesson.
