Shapes II: Expertly position, stack, and group shapes

Moving shape
Shapes are smart, but they can't read your mind and know where to go. Take this course and find out how to position, stack, and group shapes in Microsoft Office Visio 2007.

About this course

This course includes:

  • Three self-paced lessons and three practice sessions for hands-on experience. Practices require Visio 2007.
  • A short test at the end of each lesson; tests are not scored.
  • A Quick Reference Card you can take away from the course.

After completing this course you will be able to:

  • Position shapes quickly and effectively.
  • Stack shapes to show their relationships.
  • Group shapes so that they move and function as one.

The arrangement of shapes in a Visio diagram is the key to communicating information. By controlling shape arrangement, you strengthen the significance of individual shapes and make the relationships among them crystal clear.

Because arranging shapes is so important, Visio offers many ways to do that, more than you might expect. Maybe you've experimented and found it a bit confusing. Maybe you know some methods, but you'd like to know more and better ones.
