How do you know which is the right task type to assign to your project tasks? How do you predict the different influences on your schedule and get the best results for your particular project?
The best way to understand how modifying the individual elements of the scheduling formula can affect the tasks and the overall project schedule is to actually see the different results side-by-side.
This practice shows you how to create a scheduling "tool" that will enable you to compare the results. You'll also be able to save this tool for future use when developing projects.
About the practice session
When you click Practice in Project, a practice project will download to your computer and open in Project, and a separate window with practice instructions will appear alongside (see picture).
Note You need to have Project 2003 installed on your computer.
- If the practice instructions aren't visible, or disappear when you click in Project, click the Project Help taskbar button and then click the Auto Tile button on the upper-left corner of the instructions.
- If the practice instructions cover up Project, click the Auto Tile button on the upper-left corner of the instructions.
