Audience rules determine who is or is not a member of an audience. An audience includes all of the members who match the audience rules when the audience is compiled. Changes to audience rules do not change the membership of the audience until the next time the audience is compiled.

Note  To ensure that an audience is current, you must compile the audience after adding, editing, or deleting an audience rule. Audiences also must be compiled if the values of public properties used by the audience rule change or new users are added, even if the audience rules itself is not changed.
