Import a project to Project Server

Using the Import Project Wizard, you can set up an existing project file on Microsoft Office Project Server 2007.

Note   Before you can import or save a project to Project Server, you must be connected to Project Server. Find links to more information about connecting to Project Server in the See also section.

  1. Start Microsoft Office Project Professional 2007, and then connect to Project Server.
  2. On the Tools menu, point to Enterprise Options, and then click Import Project to Enterprise.
  3. Locate and click the project that you want to import to Project Server, and then click Open.
  4. Follow the instructions in the Import Project Wizard to map local resources to enterprise resources, validate those resources, map task fields, confirm those tasks, and save the project to Project Server.

Note   Importing a project to Project Server allows you to add resources to the enterprise resource (enterprise resources: Resources that are part of an organization's entire list of resources. Enterprise resources can be shared across projects.) pool. Resources can also be imported separately.
