Wait, so what is Project Online?

Project Online is a collaboration tool that can be used to save, view, and edit project plans, enter your timesheets, report your project status, and report across your portfolio of plans, all with the benefit of SharePoint.

If you are looking for a richer project planning experience, you might also consider subscribing to Project Pro for Office 365. This desktop application can connect to Project Online for even more detailed project planning.

To be clear, Project Online is NOT a web-based version of Project Professional 2013.    Project Online is an entirely separate service that offers full portfolio and project management tools on the Web. It includes Project Web App, and can, if you’re a subscriber, include Project Pro for Office 365.
